Its Finally Here

Wow!! its been quite a while. Well when I was not here, I was over making sure organisations partake in their Corporate Social Responsibilities. Which I must say was quiet interesting although stressful and money zapping but at the end of the day was worth it.
At first, it seemed a lot tasking when my instructor informed my classmates and I about the task. As a student as usual I did what almost everyone would do. Grumble... but now I am very much grateful for that as it has provided me with the opportunity to  have a feel of what CSR really meant.
I have to say It was'nt funny at all. We ( myself, blessing and charles) had to visit a lot of places trying to educate and convience them on how and why they should do CSR. companies such as Green-city hotel, Top 10, Muna hotel, Nas Meridien. e.t.c Some were even honest about the fact that they cannot invest into something that would'nt fetch them income. But what they did not understand after explaning it to them so many times was that CSR had a lot of benefits it doesnt have to be financially but just the satisfaction and publicity alone is good enough to fetch them money.
 Well, after weeks and weeks we were finally able to get in touch with Nas meridien hotel manager Miss Bilikisu, and the assistant Mr. Usman into taking stewardship and the environment into consideration and to make that happen, they provided shagari secondary school with recylce bins to reduce littering of the environment and its effect to the school and environment at large. They also spoke to the students and the principals on how to keep the bins and evironment clean and safe for all.

CSR project

As earlier published in the previous blog, was the defination of CSR and its concepts. Today, it is all about the activity. We were asked to form groups consisiting of both male and female. My group however, we are only three. We have embarked on our search to corporations that will be eager and willing to participate in this activity.
Glad to say that our first visit was quiet more than we had expected. We were welcomed warm heartedly into Nas meridien hotel Yola and after we met and spoke with the manager, we were assured we had their full support and all we needed do was to make a formal proposal which we also did and handed over to them.
This seems good at first but along the line it felt as if there was gonna be a major delay and we feared it would even lead to a failure on the companies side. But we hoped and prayed hard because it was really important. And awesome it turned out to be a success.

CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) means that a corporation should act in a way that
enhances society and its inhabitants and be held accountable for any of its actions that
affect people, their communities, and their environment. this means making a commitment to give back to the society. Many companies dont give back to the society yet the partonize them.
Being socially responsible does not mean that a company must abandon its other
missions.
CSR considers the impact of the companys actions on society.

It requires decision makers to take actions that protect and improve the welfare of society as a whole.

CSR has two principles that govern their activities such as charity : business should give voluntary aid to societies,needy persons and groups.
and stewardship principle means business acting as a public trustee and should consider the interest of all who are affected by business decisions and policies.

• CSR addresses social issues and allows business to be part of the solution.
• Protect self interest
• Limits future government intervention
• Addresses nissues by using business resources and expertise
• Addresses issues by being proactive

It will be really captivating if companies and businesses give back to the society because this doenst onoly benefit the community but the company as well leading to a win-win situation.

Hurricane threatens lifes.

Annoying classmates!!

Why are some classmates so annoying? they think they know everything. Im in class struggling to learn while they are there making noise or making you feel your the dumb one. Yes I get the fact you like and can talk in class honestly I admire the courage but really it gets annoying when they begin to go off point but yet argue blindly. tscheww. Im sure we all have acted in such ways but others are way too much. JJC's.

When I saw this, the first thing that came to my mind was Usher had lost it asin if he wanted a pet what happend to his kids afterall they are adorable:D and of all things to buy for such a price was a Goldendoodle (Golden retriever/poodle hybrid). But then I went further and realised that all the proceeds from the bid went to towards building schools in places like Laos, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Ghana. So don't judge a book by its cover. if it was for a good cause even I would buy a puppy of this amount over and over again.

 When will all these killings end?  I was listening to radio today and they reported that  the senate president David Mark described the act as babaric. Also, President Goodluck urged the killing to be stopped but for how long will he continue to urge? what needs to be done is implement and send out search parties to investigate and ensure that these people are fished out because its no longer safe to be in this country or is it when everyone is dead that they will realise that actions need to taken? I'm  so tired of all these killings seriously take a look at these innocent souls that are dying and children gettng hurt is this ou idea of bringing them to this world? If it was going to be possible I'll just stop childbirths so these children dont suffer for our mistakes but its quite unfortunate and sad its not.
IF YOUR NOT TIRED WE'LL I AM. THIS NEEDS TO STOP.

Triplets as number 12 after 11 births!!!

Malama Delu Alhaji-Ali, A 46-year-old housewife,  of Unguwar Namanda village, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, on Saturday gave birth to a set of triplets as her 12th childbirth at the Comprehensive Health Care Centre in Faskari. The chief nurse in charge told News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) that the mother and her 3 kids are doing just fine. Since this was Delu's 12th birth I wouldnt say it was easy but quite used to as she gave birth unassisted.
 This was a miracle to the community as it was the first triplet birth recorded in the hospital this year.
The wife of local government caretaker committee chairman, Mrs. Sa’adatu Faskari-Ahmad, has donated some clothes and money to the mother and her babies. And stressed the fact that having triplets was rare and stated it was a gift from Allah.
Wow... taking care of these children wont be an easy job thats for sure but then 12th:O thats like 11+3= 14 for one wife.hmmm all I can say is she really tried.

climate change or Global warming.

 We keep talking about global warming. But  do we really know what it means, and its effect on us and the world at large? Global warming is the gradual increase in temperature belived to be as a result of green house effect caused by carbondioxide, burning of fossil fuels and gases and causing the earth to grow warmer everyday.
 This effect causes the ice to melt and increased flood attacks, droughts and also loss of food and animals.
This change in the earthsurface is caused by us. YES humans with exception of no one. The world is changing, we wre changing and we aqre changing the world.
You might ask how this is possible but if you look back you'll know that humans have been the sole 'destroyers' of the planet earth. ever since the advent od industralization, things have never been the same. yes we got developed and made life earsier but then again we tried destroying it by the cars we drive,  burning of coal and gases. Global warming is moving faster than expected therefore solutions need to be taken to prevent it. it is practically impossible to stop using cars etc. but sustianably looking for means to reduce global warming will reduce the rate at which the earth is heating rather than not acting at all.
new organizations are emerging and making sure that they find ways that will reduce this such as the use of renewable resources such as sun, wind/air, water etc to sustain the environment.

Arik BOMB scare

A rumor started this afternoon about a so called boko haram attack on Arik plane. No one really knows what or who decided to increase the already placed panic and fear in Nigerians. In a press release this afternoon, the minister described the whole incidence as a wicked rumor and a ‘Hoax’. They also made it clear and greatly expantiaiting on the identity of the ‘supposed’ suspect that was arrested. The passenger Ahmed Aminu, according to other passengers panicked while mid’air screamed Allah akbar. After a thorough search in the plane by other passengers and when he landed he was searched by the SSS and nothing incriminating was found on him. But he is still under interrogation.

Its no new story about the act of lesbianism in the world but in Nigeria hmmm.....thats kinda hard to imagine since its not publicly known and accepted here. But that has seemed to change since we can now see girls in calabar displaying public show of affection. In the western world, it seems ok but with our accustomed culture and tradition it is still highly unacceptable. lesbianism act they say is like a demon invested in you once you get it you can never go back. most of the lesbians start this act at a very tender age of 17 or even less and are in 'ALL GIRLS SCHOOL' some start with the intension of having an adventurous experience but unknowingly become hooked to it.  The link below provides you with more insight on our trending act in calabar. Technological craze!!!

          Its funny how this industrial era has moved. It was just yesterday that it was the agricultural period and within the twinkle of an eye we're here evolving from one tech to another. The most popular one is the Blackberry smartphone craze A.K.A  BB. It comes in different types that I musn't say since I assume you all know them at least if not all then 2 or 3 or even more.
          Youths pinging, chating, loosing focus and all in the name of BB. Imagine this, updating status and display pictures (DP) everytime you do something be it stupid, funny,educational or even insane you just have to update. I mean some cant literally.... I mean literally can't sleep or do anything without their phones with them the phone is even becominG smarter than they are:) thats to show how intense its becoming. The most interesting part of it is most parents ae actually buying BB's  and also pinging just like the teenagers and asking you to add them up how mad is this stuff?................

        Just take a look at this girl even in the depts of distress and pain she still is able to snap and update her DP like seriously do you not see what you are standing in? *Confused face*

Port Harcourt student killings!!!

How can one sit back and watch such a thing its not only demoralizing but also a devilish act. Imagine the parents of these children watching this video how will they react? I mean no matter what these students did does not deserve this treatment at all.
 Ok firstly, these port harcourt univeristy students were being accused of stealing laptops and phones but as it was, they were 5 cult members  who wanted to go on attack but on the way a lady cited them and shouted for help which alerted the members of the community who started beating the living day light outta them and burning them after being caught with ammunition's but one was lucky to have escaped living only 4 of them.
 My God!!! I mean we are animals I get that part but it doesn't mean we have to act like were are in a jungle with no training.
Also I thought we are not allowed to take matters into our hands the LAW is specifically there so why should this man do this I think he should not go away with such devilish act but must be judged accordingly:(

About N5 billion naira is said to have been stolen by the top executives of NECO, who were also accused of diverting staff allowances and bonuses for their personal use.
The whistleblower tendered several documentations to back the charge against the duo, whilst insisting that the Registrar aided by some crooked members of the executive misappropriated workers’ contributions and acquired a private mansion in Minna plus a new multi-million naira hotel that is yet to be commissioned for business in Minna.
The Finance Director is also alleged to have acquired a residential property for himself while a hotel by the name Alovera, is said to be his.
The whistleblower in the government agency also accused both of them of lifestyles way above their earnings and acquiring multi-million naira real estate. He opted to remain anonymous queried the non-remittance of taxes and workers’ contributions to the National Housing Fund (NHF), as well as premiums for their insurance policies provided Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, after deductions have been made from their salaries.

 Journalists told 'THEWILL' that Ishola whose monthly salary is around N250K acquired the hotel presently being managed by wife, Betty Ishola.

THEWILL further gathered that both Okpala and Ishola have been under scrutiny for a while following staff complaints over their inability to obtain tax clearance certificates from the Niger State Board of Internal Revenue. A letter from the revenue service to the workers’ union revealed that the NECO executive had not remitted taxes to the State Board of Internal Revenue in at least 5 years. A letter from the federal mortgage bank to agitated workers also revealed the non-remittance of contributions of workers even though contributions are deducted monthly from their pay.
The workers’ union, which discovered the fraud, has asked the Okpala led executive to refund all deductions made on behalf of employees of the examinations body.
Calls and text messages to aides of the NECO bosses were not acknowledged.
So therefore, if it were not to be for this man, the whole world wont know about this embezzlement.

Denmark: A country wiv a difference

Denmark is a country found in Northern Europe that shares border with the Baltic Sea and North Sea its capital is Copenhagen covering about 43,094 sq km. less than twice the size of Massachusetts with a population of about 5,543,453 with the median ages of male: 40.3yrs and female: 42.1yrs. People above 15yrs of age can read and write. Their main language is Dane (Danish) while English is the predominant second language and practice constitutional monarchy system of government since 5th June 1849. The official religion is evangelical Lutheran with 95% christainity3% and Islam 2%. Its natural resources include natural gas, petroleum, fish, salt limestone, chalk, stone gravel etc. Furthermore, it is faced with the treats of air pollution, water pollution caused by animal waste and pesticides.


This country has been ranked as the least corrupt of all countries in the world and this is as a result of its economical development. It has a very good agricultural sector, leading pharmaceutical firms, renewable energy and state of the art industry. Its legislations are in correspondence with the regulations of the European Union in which they are also members. Denmark enjoys a high standard of living in the whole world and this is as result of the improved government welfare and equitable distribution of income. It exports food and energy, depends on imports of raw materials but still enjoy balance of payments surplus.
Furthermore, world fact book stated that having been in a slowing economy in 2007, housing prices dropped drastically in 2008/09 causing financial crisis bringing the GDP from 0.8% to 5.8% but Denmark was able to bounce back to its feet in 2010 with growth of 1.3%. This example clearly states how Denmark is at its peak in economical development which has made it to be the most ‘clean’ in the world.

     Ethics is defined in  Business and society as the conception of right and wrong conducts that tells us whether our behavior is moral or immoral, good or bad. It is also the activity that defines our way of life. That is it is what checks our behaviour and one that answers questions like.Do I give or take bribe? Do I kill him for lying? or Should I kill my Mom for trying to prevent me from following bad friends?

    All these are centered on Ethics, a lot of questions related to business, relationships, school and  life in general are answered and determined using the concept of Ethics. In order for a society to be stable and peaceful, one must emrace ethics.
  The family, school, media, friends and society in general are all responsible in shapening our ethical values.
